- Department Chair, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Toledo, 2021-present. The EECS Department has more than 600 undergraduate, Master’s and Ph.D. students majoring in Computer Science, Computer Science and Engineering, and/or Electrical Engineering on 2 campuses. The department has developed new major, minor, concentration, certificate and international partnership programs, nearly doubled the extramural research funding, and received significant donations supporting scholarship and education such as an endowed professorship and a new Senior Design lab since July 2021.
- Co-Acting Chair, Department of Engineering Technology, University of Toledo, June 2025-present. Overseeing the following programs: Computer Science and Engineering Technology (CSET), Cyber Security, Electrical Engineering Technology (EET), and Information Technology (IT), which have about 300 students. Collaborating with Program Directors of CSET/IT, Cyber Security, and EET, and EECS to enhance instructional efficiency. Fulfilling all departmental Chair duties, including workload assignment and faculty reviews, for the CSET, Cybersecurity, EET, and IT programs. Integrating the CSET, Cybersecurity, EET, and IT programs in the ET Department with the CS, CSE, and EE programs in the EECS Department, and advancing cultural integration between engineering science and engineering technology disciplines to strengthen academic coherence and identity.
- Chair, AI Curriculum Subcommittee, University of Toledo, 2024-present. Led the committee to examine best practices and resources to ensure that students can competently and comfortably utilize AI-based tools and understand acceptable and unacceptable uses of AI-based tools in their respective disciplines; generated a report with recommendations to the Provost Office. Coordinating and spearheading AI initiatives.
- Faculty Senator, Lehigh University, 2018-2021: Faculty Affairs Subcommittee, leadership in updating Rules and Procedures of the Faculty with new categories of faculty (e.g. Research Faculty and Teaching Faculty) added with their rights and responsibilities for equity and long-term growth of the university.
- Faculty Tri-Chair and Member at Large, Council for Equity and Community, Lehigh University, 2016-2020: leadership in updating the Bylaws of the Council for Equity and Community to include the representation of Professor of Practice and achieve more diversity, equity, and inclusion for the Council and the university.
- Leadership Council Member, Institute of Cyber-Physical Infrastructure and Energy, Lehigh University, 2017-2021. Co-founded a multidisciplinary research cluster Integrated Networks for Electrical, Information and Financial Flows in 2009, co-chaired successful tenure-track faculty searches of faculty lines for the cluster in 2012-2013, and co-developed the cluster to be an Interdisciplinary Research Institute of Cyber-Physical Infrastructure and Energy in 2017.
